My main tools as a Graphic Designer/Illustrator are the Apple iPad Pro & pencil, my laptop (which has the essential adobe programs) and imagination.
My design process isn’t super crazy…usually I start by doing some research on the company that wants to work with me. Some clients already have an idea of what they are envisioning. I don’t mind exploring with clients who are unsure, sometime’s its fun to brainstorm together! I take it right to the iPad to start rough sketches. Usually this involves just throwing anything down that may evolve into a great idea. Just like there are no stupid questions…there are no stupid doodles!
I send these sketches to the client after sorting them through and tightening them up a bit. Then from there I usually get a clear idea of what the client likes and I move on to more refined sketches. Once a refined sketch is chosen, I take it to the computer to vectorize and the project is complete! The process definitely takes time, but the end result is usually worth it.
